SVMARC TOUR LEADER AND ATTENDEE’S GUIDELINES
TOUR LEADER
- SAFETY & ALL ATTENDEES WELL BEING IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ON ANY TOUR
- 30-day notice is desirable to notify membership of any tours
- Sign up sheet for all tours should include do you need a room, food, are you bringing you’re A? comments.
- Layout the route, starting location is to have available gas, bathroom, drinks & food, meet time, drivers meeting time, anticipated departure time, distance, rest stops, fuel stops, food stops.
- Rest stops are about 1hr. apart.
- General touring distance per hour, ranges from 35 to 55 miles or less
· Fuel stops no more than 140 miles apart
- Rest stops should be about 15 min.
- Provide cell phone numbers of all participants on the tour and designate CB channel for tour
- Approximate total mileage to be traveled, the days we will be on the tour, and approximate cost
- Verify all participant arrival at each stop and roll call prior to any departure
- Try not to exceed 250 mi. average per day
- Overnight tours need arrangements (block of rooms) for attendees to reserve downstairs rooms if possible, non-smoking; some may need smoking rooms. Have all attending call and register at host hotels.
- Plan food stops for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner or on your own
- Plan tour docents or hand outs for points of interest
- Any attendees departing from the tour route are on their own, tour leaders cannot be responsible for departing attendees from the tour route. Late arrivals for departure may be left on their own.
- Bring snacks, water to share with members on the tour if possible, reimbursements may be allowed with board and membership approval.
- Possible evening happy hour needs set up in advance, BYOD.
- All night time driving is to be at a minimum
- Notify all on the tour who the tail gunner is or the safety coordinator at the drivers meeting

TOUR ATTENDEES
- SAFETY IS THE MOST IMPORTANT ON ANY TOUR
- All attendees must have a full tank of gas when they begin the tour at the start location. This will allow cars to fuel at the same time and keep the tour flowing timely.
- Follow the tour leaders directions you will be provided at the drivers meeting
- PLEASE TELL the tour leader if an unscheduled stop is necessary (Restroom, etc)
- Keep the Model A behind you in view at all times.
- Be prompt for departures so all are ready to leave together
- Keep in communication with the tour leader and tail gunner
- Pick up the driving instructions, all maps, and phone numbers of members on the tour at the drivers meeting
- Tour leaders are always open to suggestions and will implement if possible
- If you need to leave the route please inform the tour leader of your departure
- Notify the tour leader or tail gunner of any car trouble
- Do not impede traffic ALWAYS allow cars behind you to pass, and leave room for normal traffic to pull in
- Start each day of travel with a full tank of gas prior to leaving with the group
- You may bring snacks or water to share with members
- If you will be late contact the tour leader
